This course meets or exceeds the requirements of ASNT SNT-TC-1a Level I & II Formal Training and NAS-410 Level 1 Training requirements.

  • Proper use of portable tools - AC/DC Yokes, Wrapped Cables, etc.
  • Types of Magnetic Fields and their specific uses
  • Various AC/DC current requirements and application techniques
  • Calulatiing correct amperages and verification techniques using pie gage or QQI, Notched Shims
  • Discontinuities and their effect on Magnetic Flux Leakage
  • Basic steel making and metal forming processes including how discontinuities are developed within each of the metal forming methods.
  • Primary and secondary forming and joining processes are explained, with highlight information regarding type, location and formation tendencies of discontinuities.
  • In-service discontinuities are explored in relation to fatigue, stress and corrosion in its various forms.

Magnetic Particle Level I & II 

This course is aligned with ASNT CP-105 and meets the requirements of NAS-410. This course also meets or exceeds the minimum requirements for formal training for ASNT SNT-TC-1A, CP-189 and NAS-410.
